Our Residential Care Services
Napier Lodge offer residential care services to people aged 65 and over.
Our staff have been trained in a wide range of care topics, which help us to understand the needs of our residents and manage physical, mental, and emotional requirements on a daily basis.
We have specialist knowledge of caring for strokes, diabetes, dementia, and mobility, in addition to the everyday personal needs of each resident.
We put an emphasis on wellbeing, and offer a range of entertainment including Sky TV, WIFI, a laptop for video calls, books, plus in-house entertainment, such as bingo, quizzes, and chair exercises.
Care Specialisms
Stroke – We are trained in managing the effects of a stroke and work in partnership with physiotherapists to aid rehabilitation. Dietary requirements and monitored, and our team are trained in the use of mobility aids.
Diabetes – Dietary needs are established during assessment and carefully monitored on a daily basis. We work with the district nurse and outside professionals to provide support.
Dementia – We have completed accredited training in dementia, and have a Dementia Champion to assist as necessary. Our reminiscence activities look at old adverts and postcards, which allow us to talk about the past.
Mobility – Our home is completely wheelchair accessible, with a lift to upper floors. We have a range of equipment including hoists and etac turner, and are trained to use them correctly.
End of Life Care
We are here to care to the end of life, and are prepared to go above and beyond to ensure comfort and compassion.
Our team are trained to recognise signs during end of life, and when to get the help from the professional external teams.
We work along side with the District Nurse team and the Hospice at Home team, who will visit as required to monitor comfort levels and administer pain relief.
Respite Care
We offer private respite care for stays of one to four weeks, for people aged 65 and over. If you receive Care in the Community, you may be able to get up to four weeks funded respite break with us. This can be essential if you are a carer looking after family and need a break for work, a holiday, or an other commitments.
Respite guests receive the same level of care and facilities as our full-time residents.
DAY CARE
Our day care service for 65+ runs from 8am – 6pm, and offers a day-only care option. This is available on both a one-off basis if you’re a carer who has another engagement, or a regular booking if you have a weekly commitment such as work.
Day care guests are treated the the same as nay of our other residents and assessed to ensure we provide the correct dietary requirements and are aware of their needs.
