About the Home
Napier Lodge is located in a quiet side road near the end of Blackpool Promenade, and is ideally situated for local amenities and some lovely days out. We do everything we can to make it feel like home for our residents, and constantly work to improve everything we offer.
The Living Room
Our bright and lively communal living room is a place for residents to get together for a chat and some entertainment. We have Sky TV and a wide range of films (musicals and action films are the current favourites!)
A laptop is available for our silver surfers and great for video calls. WIFI is available throughout the building for residents with their own computers & tablets. We stock a variety of popular books too, for a less techy approach.
The living room also hosts activities such as bingo, quizzes, and exercise.
The Dining Room
Our dining room is a bright and spacious communal room, with large bright images to give a joyful feeling.
We prepare real home cooked food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with fresh veg. fresh fruit and snacks available throughout the day. There are always offer two main options or light snacks, along with a sweet and a range of drinks.
Our dining room is fully accessible, and is often also used for activities such as arts and crafts, and painting.
The Sitting Room
Our sitting room is a quieter room, which overlooks the garden. It’s used by residents for more personal activities such as reading, hobbies, or just relaxing.
There’s a TV in there to watch special interest programmes or a regular series residents follow, and it has WIFI to use a laptop or tablet for browsing the internet.
THe Gardens
We have an enclosed side garden, which is planted up during the summer and provides a nice sitting area to enjoy some fresh air. This is also used for our annual garden party for residents and family, with outdoor entertainers.
Behind our dining room, we also have an enclosed accessible garden with raised beds that our green fingered residents can enjoy.
Bedrooms
We have 16 bright and airy bedrooms, 14 of which are en-suite. All rooms are fully furnished and benefit from a complete daily cleaning rota with clean sheets, which are coded to that guest to ensure they only get sheets from their own collection.
Bedrooms are fitted with Nurse-Call, a furniture set, a comfortable bed, and TV point. All rooms are centrally heated, and can be tailored to requirements.
Accessibility
Napier Lodge is 100% Wheelchair friendly with ramps throughout and all communal rooms including living room, sitting room, and dining room on one level.
We have a communal wet-room on each floor that can be used with wheelchairs, and these are preferred by residents due to their large size. For bedrooms on upper levels, we have a lift for wheelchairs.
Our staff are also fully trained in using hoists and etac systems to assist residents.
Visiting Lounge
Our visiting lounge had a pod installed to protect guests during the Covid 19 outbreak and allow them the chance to see loved ones.
Our pod is still available for use during visits if required. During the peak of Covid 19, we painted our windows like much of the country, thanking the NHS and noting Captain Tom Moore who was loved by our residents. We later etched the paintings in to our windows as a lasting tribute to the people who helped us through a very tough time.
